Interactions
Enviromental Interactions:
- E. alderi often spread seeds or spores of plants since they become adhered to the snails mucus. Seeds and spores may also be spread by snails eliminating them in their feces (Silva 2009).
- E. alderi help to recycle nutrients, calcium being the largest one (Silva 2009).
- E. alderi, and other snails, can be used as bio-indicators because they are very sensitive to pollution (Silva 2009).
Species Interactions:
- Mating is an interaction between two snails, they rub their antennae together and then proceed to mate (Land Snails of Wisconsin 2011). For more information on snail mating visit Reproduction.
