Habitat

The species Euchemotrema leai inhabits many lowland areas.  Specifically the Subspecies leai leai occupies environments of low, wet places, floodplains, meadows, roadsides, marshes and swamps.  Similarily, the Subspecies leai aliciae lives in meadows, floodplain woods, along roadsides, and near springs (Brown and Bruder 1968).  Like stated on the Distribution and Geography page, this species needs moisture in order to perform many necessary tasks such as respiration and reproduction (Cordeiro 2009).
