Welcome!

WOULD YOU LIKE TO HEAR A JOKE?!

A snail goes to a Cadillac dealership and buys a new car. But when he buys it, he has specific instructions for the dealer. "I want you to give it a paint job." says the snail.
"Sure, what color?" says the dealer.
"I want you to paint a big red 'S' on the hood, the doors, the roof and the trunk." instructs the snail.
"Sure thing," says the dealer, "but can I ask why?"
The snail looks at him and explains,
"So when I go driving up and down the strip all the people watching me say 'Look at that S Car Go!!!'"

On a more serious note...

This website is based on the air-breathing land snail Millerelix peregrina (Rehder, 1932), more commonly known as the “white liptooth snail” or the “strange many-whorled land snail”. Because most of the research done on this species was conducted when it was believed to be a part of the Polygyra genus, it may also be referred to as Polygyra peregrina instead of Millerelix peregrina.

The goal of this webpage is to thoroughly educate people on the history and lifestyle of this rare mollusk by providing them with accurate, detailed descriptions. As a part of the MultipleOrganisms.net project, which is affiliated with the Animal Biology course and located at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, as well as the Wisconsin land snails page, we strive to gain and share knowledge regarding species in the United States.
