Habitat

Tabanus are found in six continents, excluding Antarctica (Linsenmaier 1972). They’re present outside extreme southern and northern latitudes, which is similar to many other insects under the family Tabanidae. Most Tabanidae are found in rural areas stretching across South America, North America, Africa and India (Linsenmaier 1972). To learn more about interactions with other species in the areas they are found you can go to the interactions page of this website.
