Habitat

Glossosoma intermedium are aquatic bugs.  The larvae are born in the bottom of rocky streams and river in which they live until they reach adulthood.  The rocky streams are suitable for Glossosoma intermedium as home since they build their cases from small stones.  The stream that they live in tend to be moderate to fast flowing streams (Wallace 2011).  Around the world Glossosoma intermedium can be found in North America, Northern Asia and Europe (Wallace 2011).  Within North America they live from the area around Illinois in the United States to as far west as British Columbia in Canada.
