Daedalochila (Polygyra) auriculata (Ocala Liptooth)

The ocala liptooth is a terrestrial snail that lives in the south east.  The Latin name is derived from the roots Daeda, which means intricate, Chila, which means lip, Auri, which relates to the ear, and Lat, which means broad.  The name ocala liptooth comes from the city of Ocala in Florida where this snail is found and the unique shape of the opening of the shell.
