This website was created by a UW- La Crosse student to enhance the public's knowledge on the Stenonema pulchellum, more commonly known as a flat-headed mayfly. Stenonema pulchellum, being a medium sized insect, is a common insect found in the majority of freshwater habitats. They date from the Carboniferous and Permian times and are the oldest of the extant winged insects (O'Toole 2002).

 Hopefully this website will inform you about the classification, habitat, interactions with other organisms and various facts concerning this specific insect.
