  • The Wheel Bug is a close relative to the common stink bug, in turn the Wheel Bug also secretes a less potent odor.

  • The Wheel Bug is the largest known Assassin Bug.

  • Females are longer and wider than males.

  • As a nymph the Wheel Bug is particularly vicious in its predacious behaviors.

  • The Wheel Bug creates a "chirping" sound by rubbing its rostrum back and forth with its prosternum.

  • When scared or captured, the Wheel Bug releases a pair of brightly colored sacs near its head that secrete a noticeable odor.
