Habitat

Longnose Gars are found in North America, east of the Mississippi River, only.  They range from Canada all the way down to Florida.  They prefer sluggish areas of rivers, lakes, reservior and estuaries.  They can also live in brackish waters.  This means water with more salinity than fresh water, but not as much as salt water.
