                    Andrea

Hi there! My name is Andrea Gust and I am a student at UW-La Crosse.  I'm duo majoring in Clinical laboratory science and Biology with a biomedical concentration, and I also have a microbiology minor.  I'm planning on working in a hospital lab when I graduate, at least that's the plan for now!

I currently live in Wisconsin, and have two brothers and one older sister who all like to boss me around.  My favorite pet is my red ear slider turtle named Franklin T. Turtle (the T. stands for "the").

My favorite snake story happened when I was about nine years old.  Me, my sister, and my two cousins were walking a group of dogs.  Of course we decided to walk along the creek that we were told specifically by our parents to stay away from.  While standing around we noticed the dogs acting jumpy and when we looked down there was a huge snake winding between their legs.  Being nine and all girls, we all screamed and ran all the way home.  When I got home that night I did lots of research on where poisonous snakes live and what they look like.  Somewhere in the middle of all my 'research' I began to think snakes were pretty cool creatures.  Since then I have always enjoyed learning about snakes, though I do admit some of my girlish fear of snakes still remains.

Thanks for all the people who let me use their pictures and for all the great websites and papers I used to find my information.  Check out my references if you want to read more!
