Hi! My name is Cassy Roberts and I’m an undergraduate student from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I’m currently working towards a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Nutrition. After graduation, I plan to continue on with my schooling to become a Physician’s Assistant.

This website was created as an assignment for my Organismal Biology class. Our assignment was to create a website that gave information on an organism for which we can derive medicine. I chose the Pacific Yew (Taxus brevifolia) because of the drug, Taxol, which is derived from it and its role in the treatment of cancer. Both my aunt and grandmother are cancer survivors so it’s an important issue for me.

I hope this information proves to be helpful. If there are any questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to contact me. I can be contacted at roberts.cass@students.uwlax.edu.
