Hello and thank you for visiting my website! My name is Paxton Proft and I am a sophomore at the  University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. I am studying Cellular and Molecular Biology in teh hopes of becoming a lab technician/researcher, hopefully in the area of oncology. I have always known the medical field was for me. It was not until my dad's diagnosis with stage four metastatic prostate cancer at the age of 52 and our amazing experience with the Cancer Treatment Centers of America located in Zion, Illinois that I decided I wanted to work in oncology.

 

 I created this website for Vitis labrusca as an assignment for my Organismal Biology class. The Fox grape, and more specifically the Concord grape jumped out at me because ever since we discovered my dad's cancer, he has done his research on how diet is important and how much a healthy diet can lower the risk of cancer and, in his case, help fend it off. He would always preach to me the great anti-cancer attributes of the grape and tell me if I was going to drink alcohol that I should drink red wine because it contains all of these good things.
