Ixodes scapularis - Deer Tick
About the Author
Hi! My name is Brianna Clarin and I am a junior at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. My major is Biology with a concentration in Biomedical Science. I also have a chemistry minor. I plan to graduate in May of 2009 and then go on to get my masters in Medical Physics!
I am originally from Eagan, Minnesota which is a suburb of Minneapolis and St. Paul. During my free time, when I'm not at school or work, I like camping, boating, fishing, relaxing, vacations, and like most girls, shopping.
We had to design a webpage on an organism of our choice for my Organismal Biology (BIO 203) class. (Thank you for visiting my website by the way!) I chose to do my project on Deer Ticks. Why? Well, my family has had a cabin in Grantsburg, WI for years and in May of 2007 my parents decided to move up there. 'Tick season' is a huge deal all over Wisconsin and I wanted to take a closer look into the Deer Ticks, or new pets, that my cat and dog kept bringing home!
