The dromedary camel scavenges the desert eating just about any plant life it can find including coarse, dry, thorny plants. It also can go the longest out of any mammal without water. However, it can drink an incredible 28 gallons of water at a time. This is also more than any other mammal can drink without causing death. On top of that, the one-humped camel can drink salt water if needed.
