Nutrition
Being an obligate intracellular parasite, T. gondii gets its nutrition directly from it's hosts. Living in the intestines, the organism absorbs nutrients directly.
T. gondii can also live off of the living components of other cells of the body by burrowing inside them and again, directly absorbing the nutrients.
Toxoplasma's main source of energy is the glucose found in living cells and intestinal tracts (6).
