Because the winter flounder is mainly a
bottom dwelling fish, its
main diet consists of things it can
find on the sea floor. Larval flounders will feed on the
eggs and larva of many types of invertebrates. The adults
will feed on small mollusks, crustaceans, other small fish,
plant matter, and some
echinoderms.
However, this fish isn't the only
predator on the block.
Here is a video showing a winter flounder feeding on algae growing on rocks.
