Trichinella spiralis

we are everywhere!

T. spiralis lives in a wide variety of temperate and equatorial climates. T.spiralis is most common in Europe, North America, and Asia, but is also found on just about every continent in the world. The prevalence of infected swine varies greatly from continent to continent. In Asia, approximately 25% of all swine have this parasitic nematode living within it. In the United States, less than 1% of all swine are infected with Trichinella spiralis.
