The tomato, derived from the Nahuatl word tomatl, is scientifically known as the Solanum lycopersicon.  In Latin, Solanum is defined as solace, referring to the narcotic properties of some species. Lycopersicon, which means “wolf peach,” is related to the aphrodisiac powers of the tomato. 11 The tomato has been traced back from its origin
