There's No Place Like Home

This map shows the distribution of all Bluefin Tuna.  Atlantic Bluefin tuna, as their name implies, are located only in the Atlantic Ocean.

    Atlantic Bluefin Tuna can be found from the cold waters of the north Atlantic to the warm tropical waters of the Mediterranean and the Gulf of Mexico.  They are highly migratory, and species tagged in the Gulf of Mexico have have been known to travel all the way to Norway.  The Bluefin live both in coastal waters and the deep ocean.  They can dive to depths of over 1000 meters (3280 feet).  Click here to learn about the Bluefin's adaptations.
