Hello! My name is Kathryn Houselog (but I prefer to be called Katie), and I am a freshman at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. Currently, I am a biology major, with a biomedical concentration, and a minor in Spanish. When I am not doing school work, I enjoy being active and when the sun is out, then I can often be found outside. I enjoy playing and watching sports, especially basketball, as I am on the women's basketball team here at La Crosse. I  enjoy spending time with friends and teammates on and off the court, and ultimately I like to stay busy! As far as my future, I've realized that I still have a lot of life to live, and I am not yet sure what I want to do for a career. The possibilities are endless... stay tuned.

The theme for our website creations this semester in my Organismal Biology class was venomous and poisonous organisms. I chose to research the Frangipani because I am intrigued by the fact that something so well-known for its beautiful and sweet fragrance has poison with the potential to harm us. In fact, I think very few people know that the Hawaiian lei flower has some poisonous elements. I hope you became more informed by this web page and enjoyed all of the magnificent photos courtesy of John (aka Sheba_Also via flickr.com).

Lastly, if you found my website interesting and are thirsting for more knowledge I urge you to check out the Multiple Organisms for an abundance of knowledge about hundreds more organisms. Click the link below!
