Facts
The Golden Poison Dart Frog is one of the largest within the Dendrobatidae family measuring up to two inches in adulthood. The frog has a slight range of colors. With a color range of yellow, orange, to a minty-green color they let their predators be well aware of what sort of punch that it’s packing (speaking toxicity). This type of coloration is known as aposematic coloration. The Golden Poison Frog is the most lethal of all poison dart frogs and is considered the most poisonous animal on earth. It has the potential to kill 10-20 humans and up to 10,000 mice. They themselves do not manufacture their toxin. The frog ingests insects and secretes the Batrachotoxin through their skin glands. They seem to be unafraid of any predator. They are said to be social animals and tend to live in small groups up to around 7 individuals.
