Adaptation of Land Snails
- Movement is done by using a muscular foot covered with epithelial cilia, which is lubricated with a mucus that reduces friction.
- A shell made of calcium carbonate is a characteristic of land snails that is usually produced by a method called coiling. Coiling allows the shell to grow with the animal without limiting it's already slow locomotion. The shell of a snail give's the snail protection.
