Adaptation
In the family Acrididae some have acquired colors mostly used for protection, and bright colors associated with aposematic features.
Grasshoppers have large modified hind legs adapted for jumping. Males have a singe unpaired plate at the end of abdomen, while females have two pairs of valves at the end of abdomen used for digging holes while laying eggs. Grasshoppers have a hard exoskeleton used for protection.
