Some Interesting Facts About Snails

Snails are known to be very strong and thus, can lift up to 10 times their own body weight, in a vertical position (Snail facts).

Two of the largest families of Terrestrial gastropods in the U.S., Polygyridae (Mesodon, Triodopsis, Inflectarius, etc.) and Zonitidae (Ventridens, Mesomphix, Glyphyalinia, etc.) contain very few pest species (Thompson, 2003).


Snails grow rings inside of the shell as they grow. This is how scientists and researchers are able to get a good idea of how old they are (Life cycle).
