Eastern Swallowtail Butterfly

Welcome!  This website is dedicated to the Papilio glaucus or Eastern Swallowtail Butterfly.  The Eastern Tiger Swallowtail is one of the most familiar butterflies in the American Midwest.  You can usually identify it by its large size (wingspan= 2.5 - 4.5 inches) and "tiger" stripes on the wings.
