Yellow perch live in many different sections of water depending on what time of year or day that it is. They are very common in Wisconsin waters due to the fact that they are a very tolerant fish.

In Spring: During spring the Perch tend to head towards shallow grounds in order to spawn. Another plus is that they water is much warmer here for them.

In Summer: During the days of the summer the fish are usually in deep water and tend to migrate towards the more shallow water for the night.

In Winter: During the winter the schools of Perch tend to head to very deep water. Luckily for them they are able to survive low oxygen environments and will tend to live through a winterkill of other fish.
