Adaptation
Like all organisms seem to have, slime molds also have
adaptations to help deal with hard times. When the environment
turns into a stressful unpleasant place to be, the slime has
some adaptations to deal with these issues.
1. The slime mold can seek light and produce fruiting bodies (learn
more here) full of spores.
2. It can also form a hard sclerotium, which is like a fruiting
body, except that it is a hard cyst full of spores which can
remain dormant for up to 75 years.
