The Lagocephalus lunaris live in a tropical climate. They are marine organisms and live near coral beds. They are mostly found in tropical and subtropical areas of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans. They are also found along the coasts of Australia and Japan.

This particular species of fish lives in saltwater and is harvested in its natural environment to be sold and eaten. In this featured picture the Lagocephalus lunaris has been caught by a fisherman to be photographed and studied.

Because this species uses coral as a form of camouflage, if you are checking out any coral beds along the tropical coast you might be able to spot one!
