is a warm water squid
found in
temperate to tropical regions.
Sepioteuthis lessoniana
live strictly in marine habitats. Sepioteuthis lessoniana,
is a common species of squid found all the way from the
Hawaiian island’s through the tropical indo-pacific to the Red Sea.
Sepioteuthis lessoniana require a salinity of 32-35 ppt and temperatures of 15-27o C. Bigfin Reef Squid tend to remain close to the shoreline, in water depths of up to 2,933 meters below sea level. Sepioteuthis lessoniana are extremely sensitive to chemical changes in the water. If there is a sudden change the chemical aura, the squid will expel a dark cloud of ink.
