Photo taken by me: Papendieck, A. "Profile Picture." (image).I’m a junior at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse majoring in biology with a concentration in biomedical sciences and a minor in chemistry.  I have created this webpage as part of a larger project (www.multipleorganisms.net – I encourage all of you to visit!) of an organis mal biology class here on campus.  Each student in successive years chooses an organism and spends a portion of their semester researching it and creating a web page.  I chose the Pacific halibut because I was intrigued by the ontogeny of the species during which its eyes migrates across the head, and also by the immense size of the sea-dwelling creature.  I enjoy to fish and someday hope to have the opportunity to hook into a 400 pound halibut!

Outside of schoolwork, I try to spend a lot of my free time in the outdoors.  I enjoy to ski, hike, and bike.  As an ex-football player here at La Crosse, I still have a desire for competition, so I have recently become interested in triathlons; I completed my first in Devil’s Lake, Wisconsin last year.  I plan to continue participating in triathlons and eventually work my way up to an iron man.  My other ambitions include:  attending medical school in the fall of 2010 and traveling the world as much as my career will allow.

Thank you for visiting my website!  I hope that it was helpful.  If you have any questions about the content, feel free to shoot me an email: papendie.andr@students.uwlax.edu. I will do my best to answer your question.  For more information about the Pacific halibut, refer to my works cited page.  Have a great day!
