Classification

Classification Reason
Domain Eukarya Eukaryotic cells have a true nucleus and membrane bound organelles. Another eukaryotic organism is the Summer Fishfly.
Kingdom Animalia One shared characteristic that is that these organisms are heterotrophic (Animalia). Another member of Animalia is the Electric Light Bug.
Phylum Chordata Organisms are bilaterally symmetric with their bodies sectioned into a head, trunk and tail (Chordata). Other examples of organisms in Chordata are the Pacific Tree Frog and the Stonefish.
Class Mammalia These are vertebrates who feed their young with milk produced by the parent (Mammalia). If want to discover another mammal check out the African Forest Elephant or the Sumatran Tiger.
Order Primates These are characterized by the ability to climb trees (Primates).
Family Cercopithecidae Another name for Old World Monkeys. These organisms’ habitats are in the Old World, including the Dusky Leaf Monkey’s habitat, Southeastern Asia (Cercopithecidae Old World Monkeys, 2000).
Genus Trachypithecus This is the name for the leaf monkeys (Trachypithecus).
Species Trachypithecus obsurus English translations:
