Like most monkeys, Dusky Leaf Monkeys spend the majority of their lives in at the tops of the trees and are active during the day. Because they spend the majority of their lives in trees, it is known that their biggest predators are humans. Dusky Leaf Monkeys and monkeys all over Asia are hunted as food, and are also losing their habitat due to deforestation (Trachypithecus obscurus Animal Diversity Web, 2002). As of now, the Dusky Leaf Monkey is on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Like most aboral primates, Dusky Leaf monkeys deals with other preators like snakes and large carnivorous birds .
