Reproduction
Snails are monoecious organisms, meaning they have both
male and female reproductive organs.
They produce both sperm and eggs. However most cannot reproduce
alone. They must mate
with another snail and both snails have the ability to produce
eggs. All snails mature at different
ages, ranging from 6 months to 5 years (Snail World).
The species Discus patulus is understudied, so it is
unknown at this point in time the exact details
of
its reproduction.
