Habitat

Pupilla muscorum is a calciphile, meaning that it's found in areas with a high concentration of calcium carbonate in the soil (Hubricht, 1985). It is generally found in dry, sunny meadows or sand dunes (Animal Base, 2010). It has also been found in chalky culverts off of roads in northern New York (Hubricht, 1985).

 A Holarctic (living in the Northern Hemisphere) organism, Pupilla muscorum generally found in the North-Eastern part of the United States (Hubricht, 1985). It can also be found, in both fossil records and living organisms, near the Rocky Mountains (Hubricht, 1985).
