Habitat
Like most land snails, the Strobilops aeneus tends
to be found in leaf litter and woody debris.
(Fretter, 1968)
(WI department of natural resources
2009) More specifically, the Bronze Pinecone has been known
to reside in areas of flat, dry. Some are also usually found on
logs and moss and leaf litter. (Hotopp,
2005) Land snails have not evolved the structural or
physiological ways of water loss from their bodies so they rely
on the humidity of the environment in most cases, which is seen
within the Strobilops. (Evans,
1972) Its dark shell helps it to
blend in with its environment.

The bronze pinecone is mostly found throughout Eastern North
America ranging from New England, down to Florida and over to
Texas.
