Phylum: Mollusca
Contain nearly 50,000 different living species, Mollusca is the largest animal phylum after the Arthropods (Eisenhour et al. 2009). Characteristics that most Mollusks posses is a radula, muscular foot, a mantle, and a reduced coleom. Vertigo hubrichti has a radula, used for scraping off algae to eat, which makes them fit well into the Mollusca phylum since no other phylum has developed this (Eisenhour et al. 2009).
