Size: 13-24 inches. The males are slightly larger than the females.

 

Lifespan: 7-10 years.

 

Endangerment Status: Not Endangered.

 

Availability: Since 1960 Australia has said that no native wildlife could be removed. Many animals in the pet trade today are relatives of lizards removed from the country almost 50 years ago although there are still cases of smuggling.

 

Pet Care Tips:

            Tank Size: 40 gallon (this will house up to 2 individuals)

            Diet: Crickets are commercially available; vegetables like romaine lettuce are good also

            Water: Misting should be done once a day. A large reservoir should be supplied as well

            Lighting: UV bulbs are preferred but these are quite expensive

            Heat: A heated area for basking should be provided on one end; leave a cool area
