Hi! My name is Samantha Runde, and I am a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I'm majoring in Biology with a Bio-Medical concentration. Someday I hope to become a physical therapist, with an emphasis in sports medicine. In my spare time, I like to play sports (volleyball, softball, basketball, and golf), play the piano, and hang out with my friends and family. And I'm originally from Hazel Green, WI, which is about two hours south of La Crosse.
I would really like to thank Mary Ann Clark (the maker of the WhoZoo website) and Kellie Stewart (of the Lory Link of New Zealand) for their help, giving me permission to use their pictures and other images. Without their help, this webpage truly would not be possible.
I had to (or should I say was fortunate enough to be able to) make this website as an assignment for my Organismal Biology class. I chose the rainbow lorikeet for many reasons, the first being that I hope to travel to Australia, where the rainbow lorikeet is from, sometime during my college career. Hopefully I will be able to see these birds up close in their natural habitat. The second main reason is because this parrot is so pretty! I know this may sound silly, but just take a few minutes to realize the beauty the rainbow lorikeet displays in its colorful plumage, not to mention this bird is extremely fun-loving, noisy, and very energetic! Thanks for taking the time to visit my webpage. Browse through the links on the side of the page and enjoy!!
