A Little About Me

Hey! My name is Abby Hitchins, and I am a student at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.  I am a biology major with a pre-med focus, and I hope to attend medical school after I graduate.  This website was made for my organismal biology class, and it is part of a larger project by my professor and peers called Multiple Organisms.  I'm originally from a small town in Minnesota which happens to be right across the river from La Crosse.  The Mississippi River is my life, which is one of the reasons I chose to attend this university.  As a member of the River City Waterski Show Team, I have a passion for water skiing.

I chose English Ivy as my organism because at the time of choosing, I had just gotten into some poison ivy after being in the woods.  Our organisms had to relate to Christmas and poison ivy does not, so I chose its closest Christmas relative: English Ivy.

I like to give a special thanks to everyone who helped me out with the project, including my professors, the staff at ITS, everyone who allowed me to use their pictures, and my friends, especially Brian Artschwager.  I am obviously not a professional on Hedera helix, but if you have any questions or think I should add something, shoot me an email at:

Thanks for checking out my site and I hope it helped you out!
