Welcome!
This website is all about the snail Euconulus fulvus
(Müller
1774)
or commonly known as the brown hive.
Euconulus fulvus
(Müller 1774) is a terrestrial land
snail. Brown Hive Snails are part of the class Gastropoda,
which are the largest and most diverse class of mollusks with
around 40,000 species(Hickman
et. al,
2009). Mollusks are understudied; not to mention,
non-marine mollusks have the highest number of extinctions
compared to any other taxonomic group. Therefore, it is very
important to study these organisms to learn more about how they
live and perhaps learn how we can help these truly unique
species avoid extinction. As you explore
this site you will be able to find
information about
Euconulus fulvus

(Brown Hive
Snail)
classification, the meaning of the name, where this snail is
located, along with the habitat it is most commonly found in,
what it eats, and how they reproduce. Also, in the picture
gallery there are multiple images of this particular snail. I
hope you enjoy time!
