Genus: Vertigo
Vertigo has two major defining characteristics or parameters. One is that members of this genus have shells that are between 1.5 and 3 millimeters (mm) in height. Also, they have a rounded aperture that could contain anywhere from zero to nine lamellae once fully matured. Vertigo hubrichti fits into each of these catagories. Its shell is 2mm in vertical height and it has 5 to 5.5 whorls, which places it within the genus Vertigo (Frest 1991).
