~Komodo dragons can swim narrow ocean pathways to get from island to island (the islands that they inhabit)!
~Komodo dragons can differ from island to island! On the Gili Montang Island (a smaller island) the komodo dragons decrease in body mass, body condition, and relative abundance compared to komodo dragons that inhabit the Island of Rinca.
~Female komodo dragons have a preference for their nests! They prefer mound nests, and within the mound nest they look for certain characteristics that make it more appealing; such as sun exposure.
~The arrival of the komodo dragon in the 1920's became the muse for the movie King Kong.
~Komodo dragons are endangered, so it is necessary to conserve them in zoos along with the conservation of Komodo National Park so the species can persist.
~Komodo dragons have a relationship with dinosaurs! Although they did not descend from the dinosaurs, the two share a common ancestor.
