The Man behind the Page
So, this is me. Currently, I am a freshman at the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse and a native of the great state of Wisconsin. I was born in the dairy state (not California, our cows are way happier) in the grand year of 1989 in the month of December. Up until now, I grew up in Palmyra, a small town in the southern part of the state, where life was kind of tough, but I managed. At the moment, I am a Biology with a concentration in Biomedical and Pre-veterinary Medicine major with a Chemistry minor. In the future, I plan on going to the University of Wisconsin- Madison School of Veterinary medicine, but who knows, I still have a couple years to decide.
Science and animals make me who I am. I have had a passion for both since I was young and I couldn't picture me doing anything else in my life other than this. For as long as I can remember animals have intrigued me and have been apart of my life since I was young. Right now, I have a dog (Zeus), a cat, a channel catfish, a white crappie, and I am getting a corn snake and possibly a hognose or Kenyan sand boa this summer. My brother and I also take turns caring for a female leopard gecko. I don't plan to stop there either, my plan at the moment is to expand more into reptiles and amphibians and maybe focus my studies more on exotic animals rather than just small and farm animals. We will see how that goes.
I also happen to be an avid outdoorsmen. I basically spend my summers fishing, hiking and playing with Zeus and my winters hunting and still playing with Zeus. Company is always appreciated, so if anyone would like to join me or simply ask about this page you can contact me at houk.step@students.uwlax.edu.
