Adaptations
Prunus cerasus favors gravelly to
sandy soils. It requires moist soil, but growth is slowed and productivity is reduced
in flooded or wet, heavy soils. Sour cherries can grow in very
acidic soil, while it prefers normal acidic, neutral and basic
soils. They can grow in semi-shade or no shade.
